I think this moment just shows so much about their relationship (mainly Edward’s side). When Simon calls them both annoying, they just smile, Edward even nodding, but as soon as Simon picks on John individually, Edward’s face completely changes. He gives Simon a ‘Bitch Please’ look, and looks at John in bewilderment. Edward can’t believe that Simon would say that about John and you can tell if it was a different environment, Simon would have seen Edward’s evil side.
